I've made embarrassingly few update posts, here or YouTube.
This topic is a good excuse. So, off to it!
Why I hide my review scores
Simply put, I don't think they matter. Even if I score submissions anyway
The actual review is what matters, no matter how short. Now, if we go
outside of Newgrounds, or at least focus on just games. Given their origin,
they make no sense. Game review scores were carried over from hardware reviews
and I'm sure we can agree you can't objectively compare two games like you can
two cars, for example some engines are objectively better no matter what car they're in.
So honestly, IGN and all those places, even indie publications could benefit
from replacing them, especially if they're shown before the review itself,
with a TLDR-style sentence summarizing every major point of the review.
Am I talking nonsense here, or simply making too much sense?
